I have been artistically motivated since I was a kid - inspired by my teachers from elementary school through college. I tend to be more into abstract expressionism, but enjoy the challenge of realism in drawing. When not working on art, I enjoy outdoor activities (hiking, biking, kayaking), genealogy, catching up on the latest cult TV shows, or busting out some karaoke! Originally from Maryland, I lived in Seattle from 1997-2017 and now am happy to call Baltimore my home once again. I am excited to get into the art scene here in town, and everything that B-more has to offer!
My current artworks began with just drawing objects and seeing how they could make a shape (like an animal) - inspired by work by 16th century artist Giuseppe Arcimboldo. In time, I liked drawing the animal and filling it with objects - sometimes just random, other times it was meant to be the "junk", addictions/vices, or other stuff in our life that tie us down. The animal is representative of a free spirit who can embody all these things and yet still be alive and wonderful!
